The Center’s
professional training programs are designed to empower,
educate and inform child welfare professionals with
up-to-the minute information about preventing, identifying
and reporting child abuse and neglect. Using interactive
materials and evidence-based curriculums, we have trained
more than 50,000 physicians, teachers, social workers,
police officers, day care providers, and other professionals
with a vested interest in child welfare issues. Through
training, participants learn:
- Incidents
of child maltreatment
- Risk management
for providers
- Needs
of children who witness domestic violence
- How law
enforcement officials do child interviews
- The risks
of child exploitation via the internet
- Classroom
management for children at risk
We work with
military institutions, day care agencies, schools, correctional
facilities and other community groups to provide state-of-the
art training and education. Most of our training can
be completed in one day, with few courses available
in two-day modules.
Pre-registration
is required. Some fees may apply.
