The Center’s
youth services/afterschool programs work with elementary and junior high
school youth as early as nine years old
to increase academic success and decrease negative outcomes.
This includes working with youth to incerase their use of community resources (such as libraries), prevention efforts for youth in substance, tobacco and alcohol use, exposure to cultural and recreational activities, and academic enhancements.
We also work
closely with parents and caregivers to serve as partners
in their child’s academic success. Our school-based
programs have long-standing partnerships with schools
and community organizations to help children and families
build positive school relationships and respect for
their communities.
